fun friday giveaway

Most of the time our home doesn't look the way I want it to look. Shoes and backpacks littering the floor, dishes in the sink, and some sharpie on the upholstery that the dog has eaten a chunk of. I don't long for it to be different because that will mean that my seven children have grown and are gone.

I do crave order and beauty where I can find it...usually in the little things.

I love having a fun container full of matching pencils or pens on a desk or by the phone. Years ago I ordered about 1000 red pencils for my red and green kitchen. This week we got in a shipment of these bamboo pens for Kayce's Store and I am in love. I will confess that I can never get enough bamboo. (I found the white and green container at salvation army.)

It was so fun to hear from so many of you last week that I decided to do another fun Friday giveaway. I will be giving away two sets of pens. Just leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Tuesday. I would love to hear about you and what "little things" you enjoy.
Happy Friday!

  8. what great pens! the little things really do bring so much satisfaction in life. i recently put my hand soap and dish soap in pretty containers and corralled all the sponges and scrubbers into a lovely little pot - it's amazing how much more clean and organized it makes the kitchen feel!

  21. These pens would be perfect in my kitchen, too! I love the 1000 red pencils idea and think I may give it a try in my office. Another little thing I love: coordinating bottles for decanting everyday things. Juice is so much lovlier in vintage glass carafes, and even rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, etc. are pretty when grouped together in matching bottles.

But, I will get down to business & answer the question... I enjoy my children after a hot cup of coffee {wink}! I love those pens. We used to sell them at the rooster. Adorable! 25. First time reader this morning and now I'm a huge fan and follower. Your family is adorable. I lack color in my home, and you have such an eye for it. I enjoy little projects that are so satisfying. This week it was making a simple dessert platter with a coordinating bowl and plate from the Halloween section at Target. (Glue the bottom of the bowl to the bottom of the plate and voila) That's what makes me happy this week.
