I don't want my blogger friends to miss out on this giveaway. A few years back Marisa and I were in grade school together. (OK it has been more than a few and she was actually in class with one of my younger sisters.) She has gone on to be style editor for House Beautiful and O at Home and now has one of my favorite blogs.
I love a sense of humor in my friends and my furniture. This fun piece comes from Bobby Berk via Post and Grant blog. I had been thinking about painting a big pagoda style armoire with ikea shelves for my new store. Seeing this makes me think I might be on to something.
I am so excited to go see my friend Melodie perform at the Belcourt tonight! She is part of a cabaret style show FIVE that is an encore performance of a sold out show they did in March. Go here to get tickets and see more.
Summer + 7 children = too much laundry. Who am I kidding our laundry is always out of control. I just came across this fabulous blog and I am inspired. I just need 3 more baskets and I will be all set!
Just found out about this fabulous blog today. Here are some of my favorite looks. I love her short hair. I love her vintage treasures. But most of all I love that she is having FUN. I don't know about you but I am needing to add a bit of fun to my dressing. So I am challenging myself (and you too) to get a girl's night or date night on the calendar, dig around the closet and have fun getting dressed.
Last thursday we were in Chattanooga and decided to stay for dinner at our favorite spot Public House. We had this with dinner (2006) to be exact and it was delicious (as was our dinner). I am usually a red girl but this might change things.
For my new store I want to have two wicker couches facing each other with a giant coffee table in the middle. I am in love with this one that might have been from William's Sanoma Home. It would have big pink pillows out of this. Any one know where I can find sofas like that?
We are working on transforming a beautiful but raw warehouse space in to a KayceHughes store. Unfortunately my dreams and my budget are not on the same page. I was feeling frustrated and overwhelmed until my friend sent me these fabulous images. They are from the many Tommy Hilfiger pop up stores. Most of the images are from on of my new favorite blogs Bright Bazaar. I am loving the white walls and floor filled with beautiful colors. I am picturing my store a little cleaner and a little more feminine. But I was very inspired by the lack of costly built ins. If anyone has any store inspiration please feel free to send them my way!
We added a few items for the summer and I thought it would be fun to shoot them on my friend Gen. She was a good sport and said yes! I love any reason to go over to her house. The only ruffle blouse that we had was a size too big and I am loving how it looks on Gen. I am now ordering a larger one for me. It was so fun to work with her and I could not be more thrilled with how our pictures came out. Is she a fabulous model or what! If you don't already read her blog you really should. She has such a great eye and always seems to find the best things on sale.
