thank you notes

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Holiday. I have enjoyed doing nothing nothing nothing.
I found these adorable print ables by all sorts via Heart Handmade.
Surely my children would be nothing shy of eloquent if writing on such adorable cards.

mod podge

I am in love with these DIY ornaments by Maryland Pink and Green.
Glitter is one of my favorite things. Below I have decorated our KAYCE HUGHES gift boxes with some glitter. Are you using some glitter this year? I have a gallon of Elmers glue but have never tried Mod Podge. What do you think...is Mod Podge better?

etsy love

I am always measuring my children because they are our in house fit models. This would be perfect for my office to replace my pencil marks.
If you want your own you can find it on Etsy at Kims Sister.

One of my favorite things to do is to search Goodwill for vintage Christmas decorations. One of my favorite combinations is felt and hand sewn sequins. I love the combination of cozy and sparkly. This is a hanging pocket thing that I found for less than a dollar.

I think that it would be great inspiration for a garland or small ornaments with someones initials for the tree or a gift.

ice ice baby

I am a big fan of costume jewelry. I stumbled upon these beauties from Kohls. I have not seen them in real life but I am thinking that they would look great in my stocking.
The bracelet is $23.
The ring is $18.
Also Scott if you get two bracelets and one ring it would be free shipping.

spring shoes

Spring is feeling very far away but these spring shoes (from mod cloth) caught my eye.

Christmas at our house

Here is another part of our kitchen/family room. The Santas were a gift from my mother years ago and the bear was an early gift from her this year.
The greenery above the picture was made with clippings from our tree combined with a bow and berries on wire from Good Will.
I love adding little touches like an ornament on our dog sign. These are two of my favorite bottle brush trees.

Christmas at our house

I have loved seeing other bloggers post pictures of how they are decorating for the Holidays and thought that I would share some photos of our house.
This is part of our kitchen/family room.
I love using some of the decor that my children make at school. They add something that even the most perfect vintage decor can't touch.

PS As I shot these my husband said that "people might think that our house is always this clean and organized". Please know that I shoot the pretty stuff and step over the mess!

More to come...
After I pick up some of the mess..

eddie ross

I have a thing for vintage pins and I love how Eddie has made them into napkin rings. He even found them in Nashville.

photos via Southern Living
I am excited about having time to set a pretty table this week!
Thanks Eddie for inspiring us again!

We are having a sale so if you have been thinking about any of our clothing this is your weekend.
I have barely thought of Christmas shopping but I am planning to hit it hard Monday morning. How about you? I bet you are already done.

Nashville's Nutcracker

One of my favorite things about this time of year is going to see the Nutcracker. I am not sure what I love more the dancing or the costumes.
or the adorable children..
or getting to watch my beautiful Sophie below...
How about you...is the Nutcracker part of your Holiday plans?

Christmas decorating

I was so excited when I was contacted about choosing something from the fun website called treetopia. I love collecting Christmas things that uniquely go in different rooms of our home. Our office is fun and girlie and one year I hope to have a colorful Christmas tree from tree topia.
It was hard to choose between their Christmas wreaths and garlands but I decided on this pink one for our office mantle. Here it is making things merry and bright...

What do you think? Do you like pink for Christmas?

chic list

I was beyond thrilled to be on keep it chic's gift guide this year.
If you don't already read this blog I think that you should head on over. (It is one of my favorites.)

I skipped a few giveaways but here is today's?
Can we talk about how cute my tree is in the background. Is there such thing as an addiction to gluing vintage ornaments to Styrofoam? If so I think I have it. This tree still need some tinsel around the edge but I made it for Sophie's room that is yellow, navy and turquoise.
By the way I am crazy about these velvet jeans. I have already worn mine a few times and they are so fun. They have a little bit of stretch and can be worn with super high heals. They are a expensive for pants but I will wear them a lot and because they are classic I will be loving them for years to come.

Love these treasures from Etsy.

etsy love..

I am in love with these!
(Vintage toys and bottle brush trees are two of my favorite things.)
I found them on Michelle's Etsy sight via her blog Vintage Junky.
How perfect would they be in a little boy's room.
Now what was I really looking for?......Oh yes blue velvet.

angel sing

I love these vintage angels from Etsy.

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

gen's party

My fun fabulous friend Gen had a party this past Friday. Before I even got inside I had to stop and drool over her latest find. (The metal bamboo table that she found in the perfect shade of red.)
Being the queen of last minute I was running through the mall trying to track down red tights at 6:30 and grabbed a bottle of wine out of the fridge as my hostess gift.
Sara seems to be a little better at planning ahead. She walked in with this wonderful tree in a vintage pot perfectly decorated.

It was a Santa Swap party and this was Gen's present. (as anyone who knows her could have guessed)

Here is her fun festive table before the food...

And here I am with 3 of the most creative and fun women that I am thankful to have as friends.
Gen, me, Sara and Melodie.
PS Don't lean back against a wall when you are about to have your picture taken.

pop us shop-Nashville

I am getting excited for our pop up shop on Monday. If you live in Nashville I hope that you will be able to come by and say hi. You can click on our event page to find out more.

DIY ornaments

I am in love with DIY ornaments by Jen of Made By Girl.
I might have to incorporate them into a place setting this week. I wonder if glitter would work too?

For a chance to win this head on over to our Facebook page. I love this outfit because the pima ruffled shirt can be worn all winter long with everything and so can the skirt. They are great basics that look great together or paired with other favorites.

kate spade

A trench .....with ruffles....two of my favorite things rolled into one!
Also loving the navy and kelly combo!
