dinner

As you can tell by my lack of posts, this Summer has been a sweet but busy time.  Something had to go and this summer it was cooking.  But I do still love to sit down as a family and enjoy our meal (even if it is fried eggs on crusty wheat bread with Parmesan cheese....one of my favorites or Chicken-pot-pie from Whole Foods).

A pretty and festive table makes any meal better.  And today, thanks to Coton Colors, 5 of you will win a fun one of the following things from their line.
winner #1 will get 4 green chevron dinner plates
one will get this rectangular platter
a third winner will get this red dot spoon

a forth will get this cake stand
and our fifth winner will get 4 red chevron dinner plates.

To win just leave me a comment and tell me your favorite thing to have for dinner.

Thank you Coton Colors for making it so easy to serve up some fun!

  1. Favorite dinner- I love to have corn on the cob on the grill. :) Don't husk the corn! All you do is give them a quick dip in a Ziploc bag full of water then move them onto the grill. Unhusk them and enjoy the sweet steamy corn on the cob in about 10 minutes. Yummy! ;)Alyssa of Boston Bee

  2. My favorite dinner is one I don't make haha. Actually I love to cook and I just try to cook nightly after work. I do a lot of freezer meals. Not the fancy gourmet food from before I had children, but healthy hot meals nightly.

  3. A family summer favorite in our house is shrimp bowls. So fun to add fresh seasonal veggies like avocados, tomatoes & onions over a bed of greens. Add some goat cheese and a bit of ginger dressing on top, it's delicous. Great part is everyone can add whatever and however much they want. Would love to serve them up on these adorable new plates!

  4. A favorite family summer dinner in our house is shrimp bowls. Saute shrimp with seasoning, lemon and garlic then serve on a bed of fresh greens. The best part is all the toppings which we love avocados, tomatoes, onions, goat cheese and finish it off with a little ginger dressing. The family can choose how much or what toppings they prefer. Only thing better would be to serve on these adorable new plates!

  7. Our current summer favorite is a big salad with avacado, corn, beans, red onion and a lime dressing! So refreshing, and cool- no oven required! Sometimes we'll add grilled sausage or chorizo on the side, but it's great as a veggie meal also!

    Favorite dinner.... Really? Just one???

My absolute never fail go-to is some form of chicken with rice and broccoli or asparagus or artichokes.

I know that's so boring but it is easy and always yummy.

Now, if someone is going to sear a filet for me.... yum!

  14. My favorite summer dinner dish is FISH TACOS!
Find the freshest white fish: Chilean Bass is my fave and grill it (with a tad salt and pepper)
Use soft white corn tortillas (heated slightly)
Fresh cilantro, avocado, salsa verde and fresh cut lime wedges.
So fresh and easy to make too!

  15. I love my Mom's homemade red gravy ( she reminds me that if meat is in a sauce, it becomes gravy) these are so much fun and would be a fab addition to my new home :-)

  16. A simple steak and cheese sandwich. All I have to cook is the steak and melt the provolone and onions on top. Then put mayo on sub rolls and i'm done. I'm a terrible cook and I hate cooking. This is the only dish that my husband and 3 and 5 year old actually like!! Maybe I should have better looking plates so my meals look better!!!

  22. That red chevron pattern is amazing!

I love to cook, but when it is hot and I don't feel like it, some cheese, good bread, salami or charcuterie, and some fruit elevates "not cooking" to "romantic picnic." A bottle of wine helps too!

  34. I cook a lot (but for sure less in the summer). It is hard to say what my favorite is because I am always trying new recipes (thank you pinterest). But one of our long time faves is shrimp sauteed with chopped fresh roma tomatoes, spinach and green onion, white wine and lemon juice served over gluten free pasta. So good. It is easy, healthy and the kids gobble it up.

I also love when I try something new and everyone likes it like last nights dijon chicken with mushrooms. Oh how I am crushing on those green chevron plates:)

Glad your summer is going well.
