irish soda bread

I love to make home made breads from freshly ground flour. This is a super quick recipe from Beth Holland via the Bread Beckers Recipe Collection.

I love it for breakfast with butter and jam or paired with home made soup for dinner.

It doesen't keep very well but there isn't usually much left over.

3 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 Tbs honey
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Mix well and knead slightly. Shape into a round about 1 1/2" thick. Slash X across the top. Bake on greased cookie sheet or parchment at 375 until done (about 45 minutes)

I LOVE Irish soda bread! One of our favorite Irish restaurant/pubs in town serves this bread for the meal arrives and I devour it every time (just a little butter - delish!).

I was just browsing your website and noticed the horns the boy is holding in a few of your pictures. I am having my little boy a "little boy blue" 1st birthday party and am in need of some horns and those are PERFECT. I don't want the paper kind if I can help it.

Can you share your souce?

If I made this for my husband, he'd be a very happy man!! Might just have to do it this w/e! BTW, I took advantage of your 75% sale and bought the sleeveless sara dress in the flower print and I ADORE it!! Having never bought clothing from your store before, I was hesitant, but it fits perfectly!! And, I'm usually a solid kind of girl, but decided to go for the flower print and it looks great - so fun! My husband loves it! I might just have to do a post to show it off!!
