back down south

I just realized that I never shared this great photo with you. It was taken by Caroline Fontenot for her blog back down south. This beautiful lady is Lyndal who runs our store in Chattanooga.
She would look cute in a paper bag but I do think that she looks really cute in our Nashville Button Down Dress ...if I do say so myself.

crazy busy day

Lately my days seem to fall into one of two categories: busy or crazy busy. Today was crazy busy. After getting the kids off to school we jumped in the car and drove 2 hours to Chattanooga. My store window had very sad white walls. I taped off stripes every 11 inches, painted the wall pink and took off the tape.
Mission accomplished. If these three had heads you would be able to see how much happier they are.
Wet paintbrush in hand I was able to paint a mirror, (Ikea... thought I was buying white but when I opened it it was natural), cover a bulletin board in fabric, have some lunch and look at all of the new arrivals. We were able to jump in the car and be back in town at 6.
Crazy busy.

palm beach

I did a little shopping this morning as I waited for my bread to cook. Well it was actually pretend shopping. These are some of my favorite things from One Kings Lane Hillary Thomas tag sale.

This is the feeling that I want for the women's part of my new store. I hope that you are all having a great Saturday.

store help

For my new store I want to have two wicker couches facing each other with a giant coffee table in the middle. I am in love with this one that might have been from William's Sanoma Home.
It would have big pink pillows out of this.
Any one know where I can find sofas like that?

pop up store

We are working on transforming a beautiful but raw warehouse space in to a Kayce Hughes store. Unfortunately my dreams and my budget are not on the same page. I was feeling frustrated and overwhelmed until my friend sent me these fabulous images. They are from the many Tommy Hilfiger pop up stores.
Most of the images are from on of my new favorite blogs Bright Bazaar.
I am loving the white walls and floor filled with beautiful colors.
I am picturing my store a little cleaner and a little more feminine.
But I was very inspired by the lack of costly built ins.

If anyone has any store inspiration please feel free to send them my way!

chattanooga store

I thought that I would share a shot of our store window in Chattanooga. (Please excuse the yellow, it was taken on my husbands phone.)

bar denim blues chattanooga

We had a fun day in Chattanooga. One of the new stores to open at Warehouse Row is Bar Denim Blues.
We got to spend time with the owner Stephanie Bolton and enjoy her fun store.
They have loads of vintage cowboy boots. These look just like my favorite pair that I have had for 25 years.
These are pretty awesome too.

We love the vintage southern Americana vibe.
Can you find your name?
I love the vintage globe collection.
They even have a happy hour on Thursdays.
