fashion illustration

I have always been in awe of fashion illustration.  Back when I worked at Ralph Lauren I got to work daily with some of the best.  I even took classes one year after work.  (It soon became evident that fashion illustration is not one of my talents.)

It did however deepen my appreciation for those with the gift like Mats Gustafson.  I am loving these paintings he created for Dior that I saw on Keep it Chic (one of my favorite blogs).

valentines day cards

I am in love with these printable valentines by Jennifer Rose Smith on the Camille Styles Blog.

Whats not to love about a holiday who's favorite colors are red + pink!

Laura Trevey

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura when I was in NY for the Better Homes and Garden Style Maker Event.  After returning home I fell in love with her water colors that are available on her Etsy site.

How perfect would these 3 be for a boys room.....

Pretty flowers for my bedroom...

And a cute crab for my beach house..

Oh now I remember that I don't have a beach house.

To find out more about this artist, mother, passionate blogger etc you can check out her great blog BrightBoldBeautiful.  It is full of color and inspiration for "living beautifully".

I hope that your week is off to a great start!

BHG stylemaker event

A week ago today I had the privilege to be on the panel at the Better Homes and Garden style maker event in NYC.  Needless to say it was loads of FUN!
Perfect details were everywhere...

After looking at these photos from Avi Gerver Photography I am noticing that I use my hands a lot!  (But I guess its OK if I can get Eddie Ross to laugh that hard.)

Eddie was as fun as you would expect him to be.  I have only spent time with him on a few occasions but I feel like we are best friends....probably because he is so likable and I stalk him on instagram.

The panel was moderated by Maxwell Ryan who is the founder and CEO of apartment therapy.  He did a great job and I really enjoyed chatting with him before and after the event.  He used to be a professor and you can see that in his thoughtful personality.

The lovely lady on the right is Annette Joseph.  She has just finished a book called picture perfect parties and I can't wait to read every page.  Annette is a photo stylist/producer who specializes in lifestyle editorial images.  I loved getting to meet her and I can wait to read how she always manages to enjoy a small glass of wine for 15 minutes before her parties begin.

It was fun to meet Sue from Zhush after reading her blog forever,  Laura Trevey from bright bold beautiful and the cute girl on the right who is starting her own line of clothing and who's name I can remember :(

I loved meeting all of the talented and fun people at BHG!

summer blues

I am loving summer! My youngest turned 8 and my oldest turned 20 and summer feels much easier than it has in a long time.

I am also loving these summer feeling interiors featured on Habitually Chic.

I hope that your summer is off to a great start!

Gwyneth

I am in love with these photos of Gwyneth from British Glamour via LE CATCH blog.  Coliena Rentmeester's photos look timeless and current at the same time as does Gwyneth's makeup.

Perhaps I should add mastering fake eyelashes to my list of summer goals....

brunch

I have just returned from a wonderful time away with our family. It was great to be with out a phone and computer. But I was so excited to return and see this piece on our friends Ben and Gen beautifully photographed by Nashville's Tec Petaja.

To see more photos and the full story head over to the fabulous Matchbook Magazine!

Hugo Grenville

I am loving these paintings by Hugo Grenville that I found on Marisa's blog.

The days seem to be flying by faster than ever.  I hope that all of you moms (and teachers) out there are hanging in there as the last weeks of school seem to be the busiest.

blue and white

I am obsessed with all things blue and white lately. Perhaps it is the new store that is mostly blue and white and pink. Perhaps it is the hope that Spring and blue skies are coming soon. What ever the reason I can't seem to get enough.

I found theses goodies on sale at our West Elm.  I got the cups to hold our shiny red pencils at the store and the bowls for candy.

This fun Mara Mi paper table cloth is available at Target stores but not on line.  My friend Gen had the paper napkins at her house and she nicely parted with one that is going on my inspiration board.  I am tempted to run out and find this table cloth...just can't figure out what to make with it.
And of course Oscar de la Renta has some fabulous blue and white in his new home collection...

I know that pantone is loving green this year but at the moment I am feeling blue. I hope that your week is off to a great start!

I am loving these images of children's chairs from the collection of Patrick Parrish of MONDO CANE via Partners & Spade.

blue marbleized paper

I am a couple weeks from opening a new store in Atlanta. This project has been so long and halted so many times that I have sort of stopped working on it.  But now I need to get moving!  The colors are going to be mostly blue and pink and I wish that I could find some paper like this that I saw on IIIInspired blog.

I hope that you are all having a sunny Sunday!
