Christmas Decorations

I am in love with these images by made in persbo found via Heart Handmade.

I am a little conflicted when it comes to Christmas Decor....part of me loves all things sparkly and the other part loves natural.  How about you?  Do you have a favorite?  Do you love both?

today

Today is my birthday.  The day started with a fun party with the office and my favorite croissant egg thing from Panera.

Some of my kids had school and others were home for Fall break.  Those that were home were put to work.  (Fortunately they had fun.)

Here is what I shot with my i phone while Scott used the fancy camera.
Here we are shooting some of the Spring line in front of a giant piece of beadboard in our kitchen.

Then we went down the street to my friend's fabulous house to shoot some of our upcoming Holiday collection.

I have a lot of respect for people who do this day in and day out because I am exhausted!

Happy New Year

I hope that you have all had a wonderful break. I have loved being away from the office and my computer. We have enjoyed many cozy fires. I have picked up needlepoint again and we have done a lot of organizing around the house.
Tomorrow is our last day off before the office opens and school starts. I am hoping to get a few more things crossed off my list.

mod podge

I am in love with these DIY ornaments by Maryland Pink and Green.
Glitter is one of my favorite things. Below I have decorated our KAYCE HUGHES gift boxes with some glitter. Are you using some glitter this year? I have a gallon of Elmers glue but have never tried Mod Podge. What do you think...is Mod Podge better?

Christmas decorating

I was so excited when I was contacted about choosing something from the fun website called treetopia. I love collecting Christmas things that uniquely go in different rooms of our home. Our office is fun and girlie and one year I hope to have a colorful Christmas tree from tree topia.
It was hard to choose between their Christmas wreaths and garlands but I decided on this pink one for our office mantle. Here it is making things merry and bright...

What do you think? Do you like pink for Christmas?

GIVEAWAY Day:8

I skipped a few giveaways but here is today's?
Can we talk about how cute my tree is in the background. Is there such thing as an addiction to gluing vintage ornaments to Styrofoam? If so I think I have it. This tree still need some tinsel around the edge but I made it for Sophie's room that is yellow, navy and turquoise.
By the way I am crazy about these velvet jeans. I have already worn mine a few times and they are so fun. They have a little bit of stretch and can be worn with super high heals. They are a expensive for pants but I will wear them a lot and because they are classic I will be loving them for years to come.

angel sing

I love these vintage angels from Etsy.

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

DIY ornaments

I am in love with DIY ornaments by Jen of Made By Girl.
I might have to incorporate them into a place setting this week. I wonder if glitter would work too?

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope that you all had a happy Thanksgiving.
We had a wonderful and relaxing day.
Scott make a very yummy 27 pound turkey.
My daughters did a great job creating a pretty table.
Everyone pitched in and we enjoyed a yummy meal followed by watching Planet Earth.
Later we went to a friends and had delicious deserts. I am looking forward to tomorrow when we will pick out our tree, decorate and eat turkey sandwiches.

vintage christmas book

I love finding inspiration in vintage books.
I found this treasure a few months ago and I am having fun finding inspiration for the store and our house.
This one is made out of upside down cups that become bells. There are so many fun things that I can imagine doing with this shape. It is great for small areas.
This is an idea for decorating a box. Something about it feels very Kate Spade to me.

How about you? Are you getting excited about decorating for the holidays?

last Christmas

Last year at this time I stocked up on vintage ornaments.
How could I resist these in my favorite shade of pink?
I used a hot glue gun to glue the tops of the ornament on and then wired them onto a frame.
These photos don't do it justice. The combination of all of the different colors and textures are so beautiful.
I made this after Christmas so I am excited to use it this year.
I did learn a few things. Next time I would use something flat (the ornaments like to slide to the back of this frame). I also learned that a little mouse was fond of some of the thread covered ornaments.

I am so excited to make some more goodies with my growing stash of ornaments. Does anyone have a glue that they love? Sometimes I get frustrated that my hot glued items pop off.

toast & laurel

I am starting to get excited about the holidays. Toast and Laurel must share my love of polka dots and stripes.
