Thrifting by Charlotte Hughes

This Sunday I went thrifting with my mom.  We tackled two of our favorite stores: Thriftsmart and Music City Thrift.  We ended up with some fabulous pieces.  Our haul included two hats, four bags, five necklaces, four chairs, one belt, one pair of boots, one tray, and one sweater.  Olivia was sick and I had the day off from school, so we partnered up and had a fun photo shoot.  She obviously inherited the same modeling genes that Sophie did.  Look at that smile!

Our family motto is that you can never own too many sweaters, especially when they are only $2.50

Every time I visit a thrift store, I make sure to check the shoe section.  Sometimes it's inhabited by creatures other than Crocs

Today is my birthday.  The day started with a fun party with the office and my favorite croissant egg thing from Panera.

Some of my kids had school and others were home for Fall break.  Those that were home were put to work.  (Fortunately they had fun.)

Then we went down the street to my friend's fabulous house to shoot some of our upcoming Holiday collection.

I have a lot of respect for people who do this day in and day out because I am exhausted!

Every season I find a few things that I seem to grab time and time again.  This fall the mini red bag is one of those things.

It is the perfect size for every day.  I also love that it fits my i pad and a ton of fabric swatches which comes in handy lately as my approach to decorating the new store is a LOT of hunting and gathering.

Thanks to the chic ladies at KIC, I am crazy in love with this bag by Balenciaga. At $745 ...it was not meant to be.
I have been working on some anchors of my own...

The anchors are done but I am still working on the cording to turn them into necklaces.

If only I could find someone to crochet this bag for me...

Here is the last of our new summer dresses the tunic dresses. It really is one of my favorites. I think that I will have to grab it for date night. After midnight they will go back to full price.
Time to start dreaming up some early fall dresses. Any thoughts?????

This morning we hopped on a flight to see my parents on the way to the Bahamas for spring break.
We will be with out computers and cell phones for a week. I am so excited. Here are a few pics of my mothers beautiful table. My brother and his beautiful family were able to join us for dinner.

And I can't blog for long because I can't wait to fall asleep in the most beautiful guest room.
