Please forgive me for not blogging in forever! I have not wanted to post until I could write something about this amazing woman...

Words are not my strong suit so I found a few of my favorite photos of her...

And thought it would be fun to share a little personal story about her..

Many years ago our rehearsal dinner was at her house and she used these pinatas adorned with strands of pearls and yards of tulle as centerpieces.

That very same day her house was shot for this fun book...

The next Christmas she sent us the book and we opened it to see this written on the first page.

and this on the second...

This book makes me smile every time I look at it.  It is the best "regift" ever.
I snapped this photo of her front door a few weeks ago.  I am sad that I will probably never walk through that door again.

but I am thankful for all of the times that I did and I know that she will continue to inspire me to live life more passionately.

I do have a stash of books that I couldn't resist at Good Will.  It would be a fun Christmas project....

kindergarden reading

On vacation I enjoyed reading these three books.

Now that we are home most of my reading is more on the Kindergarten level. I will say that I am in love with this book. The illustrations are great and I love that my little one can read it and it has a cute story.

If anyone reading is in charge of school calendars can I request that they make the first week back from Spring Break a four day week? Just sayin.

We are offering our polka dot aprons at 50% off this weekend.

I think that they make a great gift paired with a cookbook.

Then again I could be accused of being a hoarder when it comes to vintage cook books.

I am in love with these totes from Barnes and Noble found via Nautical by Nature.

GONE

I am captivated by these images from Nell Dickerson's new book, Gone:A Photographic Plea for Preservation.
Found via Garden and Gun, which seems to have a hand in all things that are cool and fabulous in the South.

I do believe that a picture is worth a thousand words but Dickerson says it well, “Do whatever it takes to keep the stories alive. Our personal history is part of our national history, and we should pass it to our children with great reverence, because it is not just who we were, but who we are.”

The Charlatan's Boy

An absolutely wonderful book came out today. I was able to read it a month ago and have been so eager to tell you all about it.

The author Jonathan and his family have been priceless friends for a long time. I am so excited because I think that this book will be a huge success.

Somehow in this crazy, colorful, and creative story Jonathan touches the true core of every person's heart. I found it to be both entertaining and life changing and I believe you will too.

just finished

I just finished this book and I loved it. Perhaps that is because I enjoy people that are not "normal". I never rode a short bus but I have self diagnosed myself as dyslexic.

My bedside table is empty...any suggestions?

Its hard not to love someone with 7 kinds...right?  I remember falling in love with Robert and Cortney Novogratz years ago when they were in some magazine.  I was reminded of them the other day when talking with Beth Ann Fennelly who was had written about them and was doing an article on me.  I googled them and was thrilled to see that they are going to do a reality TV show for Bravo.  I think I might have to start watching TV.  Until then I want to get their book Down Town Chic.

Beth Ann Fennelly

I had the pleasure of being interviewed this morning by Beth Ann Fennelly for Country Living Magazine.  In preparation for our interview I went to Google to see what else she had written etc.  I was surprised to find that this woman who would be arriving at my home not only writes for magazines and teaches but also has written a hand full of books.  I was so thrilled when she gave me Great with Child.  (After an hour on Google I was dying to read this book with such great reviews!)

The morning flew by and my new friend drove home to Mississippi but I am looking forward to reading her book this week end.
