I have been sprucing up our bathroom so when I stumbled upon these fabulous bath mats I was very tempted.  They are $88 and also come in grey which is temporarily sold out.  Thank you Jonathan Adler for making such fun things!

Last week we had some friends for supper.  We love eating on the porch when it isn't too hot.

I love how sweet the zinnias looked in the vintage glasses I got at Goodwill.

The beautiful napkins are from turkish-t and are carried in our Atlanta store.

I love making watermelon mojitos in the summer and serve them early in the evening because they are stronger than you think!

Atlanta upholstery

Our new store is open and the vintage love seats are feeing a little shabby next to so much new.  So I am looking for an upholsterer.  If you have any ideas will you let me know so that my vintage pair can be wearing the same fabulous blue fabric as above?

blue and white

I am obsessed with all things blue and white lately. Perhaps it is the new store that is mostly blue and white and pink. Perhaps it is the hope that Spring and blue skies are coming soon. What ever the reason I can't seem to get enough.

I found theses goodies on sale at our West Elm.  I got the cups to hold our shiny red pencils at the store and the bowls for candy.

This fun Mara Mi paper table cloth is available at Target stores but not on line.  My friend Gen had the paper napkins at her house and she nicely parted with one that is going on my inspiration board.  I am tempted to run out and find this table cloth...just can't figure out what to make with it.

And of course Oscar de la Renta has some fabulous blue and white in his new home collection...

I know that pantone is loving green this year but at the moment I am feeling blue. I hope that your week is off to a great start!

I am in love with this desk from west elm.  The classic Parson's shape is one of my favorites and I love the natural texture of the grass cloth.

My day was spent at the pool wearing a little less sunscreen than I should. I hope that your weekend is off to a fabulous start too!

Twenty years ago we looked at buying a loft in Tribeca just before work brought us to Nashville.
If life ever brings us back to NY I hope that our loft will look a lot like this one....wide planked floors, huge windows and that "A".

ikea love

I wanted to share some recent Ikea loves.

These duvet covers with matching pillows were $14 a set and that makes me a much nicer mom when I find magic markers on them.
These are hard melamine storage containers. They are the perfect red and I though for sure that they would crack or melt or something but I have had them for a few months and I am still so in love with them.
I couldn't find either of these on line but they were there a month ago. How about you? What is your favorite cheap find lately?

Summer + 7 children = too much laundry. Who am I kidding our laundry is always out of control. I just came across this fabulous blog and I am inspired.
I just need 3 more baskets and I will be all set!

carpet help

I can not figure out where I found this image but if you know please let me know so that I can give it credit.
I am on the hunt for the "carpet" like the one used in this room. I bought one years ago from pier one imports but they no longer carry it. It was made of lots of 12 inch squares loosely sewn together so that it was easy to add two together etc. I would love any clues you all might have!

Happy Easter

I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter. Ours could not have been better. With church starting at 11 we enjoyed a slow morning. Had some friends over for an easy lunch and spent the rest of the day on the porch or in the yard. (And a little run with the hubby so I wouldn't feel too bad about all of the candy I stole throughout the day.)

I wanted to share the one thing that I did make for this year. I ordered these paper mache eggs on line. I made the large yellow ones (they are about 6 inches long) for everyone in the family.
And the smaller pink ones for my "office" family.
I wish that I had more reasons to use glitter. It just makes me happy.
