vintage wallpaper

I have always been drawn to vintage wallpaper. The big florals are usually my favorite.  You can click on the number to go to the link where I found them....vintage wallpapers

Garage and estate sales are great places to find vintage remnants.

Etsy and ebay are great places to find both remnants and larger quantities.

I love using wallpaper to make my 3 ring binders a little cuter....
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!

fall table

This morning is foggy with a touch of rain and cold here in Nashville.  This table setting by Roger Higgins on Style Blueprint has me in the mood for Fall cooking.

Is it just me or does today feel like Friday?

supper

Last week we had some friends for supper.  We love eating on the porch when it isn't too hot.
I love how sweet the zinnias looked in the vintage glasses I got at Goodwill.
The beautiful napkins are from turkish-t and are carried in our Atlanta store.

I love making watermelon mojitos in the summer and serve them early in the evening because they are stronger than you think!

I hope that your weekend is off to a great start!

peonies

Here in Nashville our glorious peonies have come and gone but I love this new painting by Kathy Cousart.
I hope that every one's summer is off to a great start.  I am loving not having to rush out the door every morning!

Happy almost Friday!

paint it

Do you ever feel like you might go nuts if you don't make something with your hands? I found these on pinterest today and I wish I could pick one up right now. I am not sure that I am steady enough to do my walls but some forgiving wrapping paper might be in my near future. You can check out some more patterns at the painted house.
How about you... Have you made anything lately?

Charlotte Hardy

I love these paintings by Charlotte Hardy.

They have a vintage quality and seem to tell a story.
I hope that you all had a safe and happy evening.

pink peonies

Today I got out some of my favorite thrift store containers...
because my pink peonies were ready to come inside.
These are the 4 arraignments that I put together. One for each person in the office.

Nothing like flowers on your desk to make work more fun!

sparkly

I am in love with this idea of a little sparkle in a vase from the book Decorate found on the blog J.W.K..
This week my daughter Clare turns 10 so I think that I will be on the hunt for some sequins for her party.

vintage flowers

I love the look of vintage enamel flowers and know I want them playing some part in my new store design. I just came across these from urban outfitters and am in love.
If my dressing rooms have drapes I will get these for sure.

art love

I am in love with these paintings by Kate Lewis found via absolutely beautiful things.

It feels like domino magazine meets Matisse.

spring flowers

I love being able to walk outside and pick some pretty flowers. This is a bunch from our knock out rose bush that has gone crazy this year.
These are some weeds that I found out front by our mail box. I was afraid that they might not last long but they lasted for well over a week (their demise probably had something to do with the water I failed to replenish.)
I had a sweet Mother's Day full of kisses and little treasures (mostly handmade) a long walk with a good friend and no doing dishes.

daisy

I have always loved daisies and it is not just because I have a sister and a niece with that name.
Every year I buy a packet of daisy seeds with the intention of having and endless supply.
These beautiful daisies don't need water,

and they feel like sunshine.

Check out this happy UK website Lisa Stickley for more.

the grass is always greener

I love these warm days when the kids come home from school and live outside.
We don't have a beautiful green lawn. We have way too many weeds.
But how can you complain when one of the weeds is this much fun?
Thought you might enjoy a little snapshot of our Thursday.

petunias

The sun is trying to come out but it is still too cold to start planting flowers in Nashville. I am itching to head to Home Depot and get flats full of flowers. Petunias are one of my favorites.
Even if it is too cold for real petunias this beautiful watercolor by Jacqueline Gnott at $85 could hold me over for a few weeks.

How about you? What flowers are you going to plant this spring?

spotted

I have spotted some daffodils along the road. We have some in our yard but they are in the shade and always seem to be the latest bloomers in Nashville. To me this means that spring is here!
