Aunt Lilly

Please forgive me for not blogging in forever! I have not wanted to post until I could write something about this amazing woman...

And thought it would be fun to share a little personal story about her..
Many years ago our rehearsal dinner was at her house and she used these pinatas adorned with strands of pearls and yards of tulle as centerpieces.

That very same day her house was shot for this fun book...
The next Christmas she sent us the book and we opened it to see this written on the first page.
and this on the second...

This book makes me smile every time I look at it.  It is the best "regift" ever.
I snapped this photo of her front door a few weeks ago.  I am sad that I will probably never walk through that door again.
but I am thankful for all of the times that I did and I know that she will continue to inspire me to live life more passionately.

birthday party

My Sophie turned 15 and her sweet friends threw her a surprise party. They dressed up in fun vintage outfits and Scott captured it on film.  I love this one will all of them in a row.
Here is the birthday girl.
Scott took so many great photos.  Here are some of my favorites.

A beautiful group of girls...inside and out.

stylish blogger award

Loretta at apples and rubies nicely nominated me for:
My assignment is to share 7 things you probably don't know about me...
1. I never wear black.

2. I grind my own wheat and use it to make breads and pancakes etc.

3. You might know that I have 7 children but you probably don't know that I am the oldest of 6.

4. Lilly Pulitzer is my aunt and our rehearsal dinner was at her house.

5. A few weeks ago I died my hair red from a box at Walgreen's. My husband says it looks fake but I think I like it.

6. I did natural childbirth with 6 of my 7 children. (in hospital no drugs)

7. I have never been officially diagnosed but my horrible spelling indicates that I am dyslexic.

I thought it would be fun to pass this along to a few of my friends who blog here in Nashville. Please take a peek at their blogs that are as wonderful as they are...

TJ Max

I headed to TJ Max to pick up some gold earrings for my 3 youngest girls.  (They seem to loose them as fast as I can buy them.)

Lilly Pulitzer had 2 adorable nightgowns for under $25.  And I fell in love with this blue and white bed cover that also came in a throw size.

puppy love

Our two white labs need something in their stockings this year.  Not that Lilly has been very good (she has taken to eating the arms of my chairs).  I can't think of anything as cute as these collars from Mascot.  Perhaps if I get her one of these she will start spending her days looking in the mirror.

love...lilly

I am a huge Lilly fan. She is my aunt and one of the most wonderful people I know. The only thing better than Lilly... is Lilly on sale. Above are my favorites from the sale section on the C Orrico web site.
