cheating

A wise woman knows know when to cook a yummy meal and when to cheat. Last night I did the latter. After I dropped off ballerinas I stopped at the produce place. I could not resist the figs that were perfectly riped.

I love their chicken salad and cheddar cheese with crackers. I also picked up their salad and some sesame dressing.

Dinner is done in time to head to the third open house/meet the teachers of the fall.

How do you like to cheat? Come on share the love.

Yum. I slice some apples, pick up roasted chicken at the grocery, and an almost ready salad. Yours sounds better, and those figs.....beautiful.

Must have been open house/meet the teacher all over the country this week!

So funny...last night I was supposed to have made a lasagna to bring to my cousin who just had a baby but I bought it at an Italian takeout place instead. Saved me so much sanity. Love your blog...just found it this week and added it to my blogroll. Look forward to following.

So yummy! And the first photograph is absolutely gorgeous!
Our small town doesn't have many great take-away places so the biggest cheat I can think of is FROZEN WAFFLES.
I can't help but keep a box (Organic Buckwheat with Berries) in the freezer at all times. And I have to say, I even like them better than the ones we sometimes make from scratch!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend,
Trina

Weeknights are cheater nights for me frequently! I love the morning star spicy black bean burgers for a quick and healthy meal.

I can so relate! But my cheating doesn't look as healthy as yours. Have a great day!

we have smoothies a couple of times each week. Fage yogurt, bananas, frozen berries, splash of oj. With that, a pbj, leftover breakfast muffins, or cheese and crackers.

I cheat every night. Except it is more like chic-fil-a or Lucky Charms. You are so healthy and good!

I love to use my crockpot when I know that dinnertime will be tough. Perhaps chili that will simmer all day or a mexican chicken soup that we will garnish with cheese and tortilla chips/frito's or other taco toppings!

In entertaining I always cheat for dessert -- a plate of amazing cookies (bought, not homemade), a bowl of clementines, and some chocolate covered, cocoa powder-dusted almonds. Set it all out, start the coffee and settle in for more conversation.
