the news

For those of you who didn't call or email I am partnering with Snap Kids to open up a Kayce Hughes store in Chattanooga asap. I am so excited that I am up blogging past 1:00 am....or perhaps it was the coffee ice cream.

The store will be filled with both my women's and children's lines but I want to add a few other treasures as well. I love vintage children's books so the following 3 are a must.

What children's books am I missing? I would your help. Lots to do and not a lot of time.

Classic children's books is one of my all-time favorite topics. Some of my favorites are:

1. Rebecca, Margaret and Nasty Annie (you never see this one anymore but it is adorable & has a great message)
2. The Animals Who Changed Their Colors (another lesser known)
3. (to 2nd Style Chronicle) The Country Bunny & the Little Gold Shoes
4. The Little Rabbit Who Wanted Red Wings
5. any of the Loise Lenski (Policeman Small, Fireman Small, etc) books
6. The Runaway Bunny
7. The Giving Tree or The Tale of Three Trees

For older children, I think The Trouble With Jenny's Ear by Oliver Butterworth is fantastic.

This news is reason enough to make a Charleston to Chattanooga pilgrimage.

Cheers!

Ooooh Mike Mulligan was one of my favorites as a kid and I have passed it on to my boys and they loved it to... now it is tucked away for future grandchildren way off in the distance!
