fun friday giveaway

Most of the time our home doesn't look the way I want it to look. Shoes and backpacks littering the floor, dishes in the sink, and some sharpie on the upholstery that the dog has eaten a chunk of. I don't long for it to be different because that will mean that my seven children have grown and are gone.

I do crave order and beauty where I can find it...usually in the little things.

I love having a fun container full of matching pencils or pens on a desk or by the phone. Years ago I ordered about 1000 red pencils for my red and green kitchen. This week we got in a shipment of these bamboo pens for Kayce's Store and I am in love. I will confess that I can never get enough bamboo. (I found the white and green container at salvation army.)

It was so fun to hear from so many of you last week that I decided to do another fun Friday giveaway. I will be giving away two sets of pens. Just leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Tuesday. I would love to hear about you and what "little things" you enjoy.
Happy Friday!

Those pens are adorable! I have blue and white trays in my bathroom drawers and I keep my makeup and jewelry on them. They are so pretty and make me happy every time I need to get toothpaste or dental floss. xx

what great pens! the little things really do bring so much satisfaction in life. i recently put my hand soap and dish soap in pretty containers and corralled all the sponges and scrubbers into a lovely little pot - it's amazing how much more clean and organized it makes the kitchen feel!

I am with you!! I crave order too...but can deal with the chaos of the three kids and three hairy cats because I want to enjoy all the time I get with them!

Adorable! I love little nooks in my home. I am eventually going to do a post about them :) Little places with personality - like the area right by my stove decorated with some of my antique ironstone collection. :)

Really neat pens! One of my favorite little things is a single flower in a vase! If I won, I would send along one of the pens to my daughter in Iowa. Thanks for a great giveaway!

I have a collection of various tags for gifts, etc. that I keep in a wooden box-- all organized and pretty to look at even when I am not using them. I'm with you...order and organization even in small spaces makes me happy! ;)

These pens would be perfect in my kitchen, too! I love the 1000 red pencils idea and think I may give it a try in my office. Another little thing I love: coordinating bottles for decanting everyday things. Juice is so much lovlier in vintage glass carafes, and even rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, etc. are pretty when grouped together in matching bottles.

Kayce,

I feel like we're bamboo sisters... You've seen all the evidence = my blog posts, my house, my random bamboo furniture pictures, my bamboo finds. Pick me... me... me! But, I will get down to business & answer the question... I enjoy my children after a hot cup of coffee {wink}! I love those pens. We used to sell them at the rooster. Adorable! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

First time reader this morning and now I'm a huge fan and follower. Your family is adorable. I lack color in my home, and you have such an eye for it. I enjoy little projects that are so satisfying. This week it was making a simple dessert platter with a coordinating bowl and plate from the Halloween section at Target. (Glue the bottom of the bowl to the bottom of the plate and voila) That's what makes me happy this week.

Love bamboo as well! And your house sounds a lot like mine! Here we live for our xtra large baskets...that's where we throw shoes (in some by the door) and toys (in the family room).
