All of the catalogues are getting me excited for Christmas.  I love the idea of tiny advent gifts.  I have done them for my children and my coworkers at Pears + Bears.  I am loving this one from Garnet Hill.  It would also be fun to knit yourself or make with vintage finds.

the perfect sunday

Some Sundays are perfect.  This was one of them.  After church it was a little rainy and a little cold.  The perfect day to paint and bake bread and relax.

long island

I had the pleasure of going "home" for a a few days.  Olivia and I wanted to welcome Grandpa back from a far too long stay in the hospital.  I am so thankful that I still have a childhood home to visit.  For me there is nothing like a place to bring back memories.

I snapped this photo of the porch to inspire me for my own screened in porch.  Like every room in my parents house it is gorgeous, full of comfortable seating and perfectly outfitted with some beautiful plants.
