I have just returned from a wonderful time away with our family. It was great to be with out a phone and computer. But I was so excited to return and see this piece on our friends Ben and Gen beautifully photographed by Nashville's Tec Petaja.

blue and white

I am obsessed with all things blue and white lately. Perhaps it is the new store that is mostly blue and white and pink. Perhaps it is the hope that Spring and blue skies are coming soon. What ever the reason I can't seem to get enough.

I found theses goodies on sale at our West Elm.  I got the cups to hold our shiny red pencils at the store and the bowls for candy.

This fun Mara Mi paper table cloth is available at Target stores but not on line.  My friend Gen had the paper napkins at her house and she nicely parted with one that is going on my inspiration board.  I am tempted to run out and find this table cloth...just can't figure out what to make with it.

And of course Oscar de la Renta has some fabulous blue and white in his new home collection...

I know that pantone is loving green this year but at the moment I am feeling blue. I hope that your week is off to a great start!

Valentine's Lunch

My friend Gen had a little Valentine's Lunch.  It was such a treat on this cold and cloudy day.  She always sets a fun table and I especially loved these vintage paper napkins.

Melodie made these beautiful watercolor notes for each of us along with heart ramekins and petit fours from a bakery.

I am so thankful for wonderful female friendships.

I am so excited to finally launch our Spring line!  I really think that this might be my favorite line so far.

little THINGS...Ikea

I believe that most of life is lived in the little things. The big things always get attention (a birthday, a wedding, a new house, a diamond ring etc). I thought that it would be fun to have a section that celebrates the little things. Little touches that cost little time and or little money yet make you or someone else smile.

So here is my first "little THINGS" post.

For me a trip to Ikea is better than Disney World.  I usually make the 4 hour journey because of a new room or office etc but I love the little things that I find there.  This last time I fell in love with these set of 6 small glasses I had seen at my friend Gen's.  They are perfect for everything from wine or juice for my kids.  I grabbed the tray for Charlotte who loves union jacks.

My salad tongs seem to vanish (sand box) and these felt fun a summery.

I hope that your weekend is full of things that make you smile...big or small.

Halloween Party

This week we went to a fun party at my friend Gen's. As usual it was the perfect combination of a little store bought a little home made and a lot of creativity.

Gen

We added a few items for the summer and I thought it would be fun to shoot them on my friend Gen. She was a good sport and said yes!
I love any reason to go over to her house.
The only ruffle blouse that we had was a size too big and I am loving how it looks on Gen. I am now ordering a larger one for me.
It was so fun to work with her and I could not be more thrilled with how our pictures came out. Is she a fabulous model or what!
If you don't already read her blog you really should. She has such a great eye and always seems to find the best things on sale.

vintage patterns

Meet the newest additions to my vintage pattern collections.  I picked these up at Gen's on Saturday and they all have an element that I want to incorporate into next season's collection.

Gen and Benjamin

In my dreams my home is this cool, this clean and this organized.  For now I must live thru my friends Gen and Benjamin and there beautiful log home here in Nashville.  Here are some shots of the "after" the ( "before" was too ugly to put on my blog.)   They are beyond inspiring and a must if you are thinking of doing any renovating.  (Photos from cookie mag)
